Why are you so worried bout tomorrow? Isn't tomorrow just another day? Oh you're too worried now, you are wasting away. Why are you always chasing stars, don't you know that they all fade away? Don't be left out in the dark, be here with me today. CHORUS Don't burn out before your time, just like those old stars up in the sky, you are fading away, be here with me today. Why must you search for a greener life, don't you know it all dies someday? It only lasts for so long, until the colors start to fade. And we're tilted on an axis, oh we'll never stand up straight, don't search for solid ground just be here with me today. CHORUS Don't burn out before your time, just like those old stars up in the sky, you are fading away, be here with me today.

When it's hot in the peak of day and I've walked 'til I have nothing left I find you lying in the shade can't seem to shake you from your rest like the wind when it's too hot to bare i touch your skin and I'm gone I was too lost in the dark of my eyes now all I want is for you to CHORUS Lay me down, Sweet Georgia do you remember me I'm in this city I've come so far back to this place back to my heart so lay me down, Sweet Georgia Lay me down I was gone but I was never lost you always stayed so close to me when the world seemed to all go dark you were the light that helped me see here I am I know I'm home moving like I did before all this time has made me realize I need you more so come and CHORUS Lay me down, Sweet Georgia do you remember me I'm in this city I've come so far back to this place back to my heart so lay me down, Sweet Georgia Lay me down

Many a friend have come and gone, some I know are gone for good, they chased a feeling I know that I’ve had though it may be misunderstood Some are scraping names inside the city sky some left it all behind for the one they love I’ll take their names as I say goodbye To the place I know I’ll always call my home CHORUS I hitched a ride out of here Oh I know that I have nothing left to fear this is just one stop on a long, long road and I’ve got to go I know those who are bathed in gold, while some drag their feet home from war, some live their whole lives behind a veil on the road they always wished for Well I don’t know where my life’s bound to go, old friends tell me that I’ve changed if something’s really gained when all seems lost well I’ve got to keep on living this way CHORUS I hitched a ride out of here Oh I know that I have nothing left to fear this is just one stop on a long, long road and I’ve got to go

You’re so, You’re so lovely Come close, Come close to me Down by the river won’t you come to me, in the heat of the night there’s no reason to leave, The clouds are rolling in we can feel the rain but I don’t know when I will see you again and You’re so, You’re so lovely Come close, Come close to me I don’t know why I feel this way, take me down to the levee let me feel it break I wanna let your love was all over me like a hurricane, brings me to my knees and You’re so, You’re so lovely Come close, Come close to me Well I called to you, under the open skies on the open road, oh I, Oh I called to you, to come back again, and here you are, where have you been? You’re so, You’re so lovely Come close, Come close to me Well I called to you, under the open skies on the open road, oh I, Oh I called to you, to come back again, and here you are, where have you been?

Devil's Kiss 03:46
I’ve been running through the blinding rain Travelled on the back of a steel line train and now I have the law coming down on me I only have myself to blame Your crooked smile made you lie through your teeth so I helped you down 6 feet deep I held the shovel, I knew I was in trouble but love can make the strongest man weak CHORUS I’ve rolled through life like a tumbleweed and I bring shame to my family when I raised hell to save myself the devil came and kissed me in my sleep Well I know I’m walking down a broken line since I loaded that forty five to ease my broken mind if love hadn’t made me track him down I wouldn’t be running for my life CHORUS I’ve rolled through life like a tumbleweed and I bring shame to my family when I raised hell to save myself the devil came and kissed me in my sleep if they lock me behind bars and throw away the key it’s all because love took a hold of me I never meant to do what I have done but the devil went and kissed me in my sleep

about

The Coteries are an Acoustic Americana trio born out of the midst of an 11,000 mile road trip across North America in their old VW Van, Trusty Rusty. Being inspired by the singer-songwriters of their past, The Coteries have adopted much of the same touch.

With just two guitars and a female voice in a living room, listen to their first demo to hear how this trio began. Head to their debut EP release "Reason in the Road" to hear how far they have come in a year and a half as they begin to discover themselves and the American countryside. (Released July 29th, 2016)
